Time to move on to our next adventure. We traveled to Esopus Creek, near Saugerties which was 68 miles away. Many sites along the way included West Point and Bannerman Castle.
The anchorage was skinny but quiet until an evening storm blew in.
With our inoperable windlass we were depending on a small anchor and it broke loose with the wind. That is when it got exciting. Ken turned on the engine and made sure Loop Dreams did not run into either bank dotted by homes and private docks. I had to pull up the anchor in the storm with lightning and pouring rain while the sirens were blaring...tornado warning!! We had no where to go, but sit out the storm. After fighting the storm for about an hour the creek calmed and we threw out the anchor again. We woke up to fog the next morning, and thankful we survived that adventure.
