10-5, Cuba Landing Marina, Tennessee

We left Green Turtle Bay at 7am and headed down the Kentucky Lake which is part of Tennessee River.  Kentucky Lake is one of the largest man made bodies of water in the world and covers 160,000 acres and has 2,380 miles of shoreline.  Although the southern half looks more like a river the lake is technically more than 240 miles long. We passed many fishermen but only saw one barge docked.  We were tempted to pull into Birdsong Resort Marina which is home of the Tennessee River Freshwater Pearl Farm, the only freshwater pearl culturing farm in the U.S. However, we are now on a mission to get home and after traveling 93 miles we stopped at Cuba Landing Marina in Tennessee.  We had plans to anchor in their harbor, but after watching the weather we ended up staying at the "rustic" marina.  Thunderstorms were predicted  to hit in the middle of the night.

Abandoned dock.
