9-30 Land Betweem the Lakes, Kentucky

We took the courtesy car to the Land Between the Lakes National Park to find out that the Bison and Elk Prairie was closed because of the US government shut down.  We took some of the back roads to explore different anchorages and noticed that they even locked the port-o-potties for the campers!!!
Land Between the Lakes, surrounded by Lake Barkley to the east and Kentucky Lake to the west, is the largest inland peninsula in the United States.  These scenic 17,000 acres are wrapped by 300 miles of shoreline and comprise the region's recreational focal point...when opened!
