March 3-4, Fort Lauderdale

March 3 - 4

From Boca Chita we decided to travel on the outside in the Atlantic Ocean instead of the ICW.
We were told that the Miami weekend boating traffic was awful and we would make better time going the ocean route. Wow what a rough ride with beam seas of 3 to 4 feet. We were rocking and rolling. Made it to Fort Lauderdale and on our way to dock at Los Olas Marina we were able to view the "miracle mile" of beautiful waterfront mansions.  One of the many mansions we passed belongs to Donald Trump. The sites were breathtaking.  Time to get the salt and sand off the boat.  Loop Dreams needs a good scrubbing after traveling nearly 200 miles from Key West to Fort Lauderdale.

We hit Fort Lauderdale just at spring break and the beaches were filled with beautiful bodies.  We need to get back to our work outs!  It was nice to view the ocean from the beach...on land and feeling good. We were surprised by a Harley Davidson parade on Sunset Boulevard.  There were hundreds of bikes escorted by police.  We all enjoyed the bikes roaring by.
