March 9-11, 2012 Stuart

march 9 - 11

Friday night we took Bill & Barbara Watson out for dinner at Conchy Joes to show our appreciation.   Bill is a boat broker who Ken does business with and he graciously let us dock at one of his slips while we were getting some repairs done.  Our boat looked like we were rafting up next to the other boats on the dock, it was a tight squeeze between the posts.  We just barely fit.
Saturday night we decided to go to one of the waterfront bars next to our boat and listen to some
blue grass music.  They were jamming and our feet were tapping to the old country songs.
Sunday we took the scooters to church and enjoyed the sermon on righteousness.  The weather cooperated just long enough for us to make it to church and back.

That afternoon we untied Loop Dreams and shoved off to our next destination, Vero Beach to meet up with Rita and John on Brandy IV.  We got caught in a rain storm and were surprised to see the Coast Guard and Sheriff pull up along our boat, with blue lights flashing...just checking to see if we were OK.  They were looking for a distressed boat.  That day we were hearing all kinds of distress calls, the weather was nasty.

We made it to the mooring field and rafted up next to Brandy IV and invited them over for smelt,  a small fish that reminds me of sardines.  Ken used to eat smelt when he lived up north. Tomorrow we are going boat shopping with them.  That is right up Ken's alley.
