June 12,
Westport Marina, New York
Because of
all the rain the docks were under water to the main building and the staff was
busy installing temporary docks. Late
that morning we had a make shift dock to get to the main building.
The mechanic
took a look at the generator and determined that because our fuel tanks were
low it was starving for fuel. He bled
the line and started it up and we paid him $125 for the repair. He did not want to tackle the windlass because
he had a bad back.
We had plans
to visit the Champlain Maritime Museum but that outing was scratched because of
repairs. Lake Champlain has over 100
sunken ships from the 1700s and 1800s and this maritime museum has preserved
many ships from that era.
Westport
offered a few shops and restaurants which was a hike to the top of the
hill. The marina’s dryer was not working
properly, and after running the dryer for 3 hours we gave up and folded wet
clothes. Time to call it a day!
