June 4th,  Boston

Boston is about a 3 hour drive and we left early to see the sights.
This is one town I have always wanted to visit, and it did not disappoint me.
Our first stop was the Old North Church where Paul Revere
had sexton Robert Newman hang two lanterns in the church steeple to warn the Charlestown patriots that the Red Coats are coming by sea.
We checked in the Brunswick Hotel and was able to see Fenway Park from our window.  Off to the Old Town Trolley which included a two day pass and we toured The Old State House where
the Declaration of Independence was read publically for the first time.
That night we had tickets to watch the Red Socks beat up on the
Texas Rangers.  We enjoyed visiting the 100+ year old ball park.
Just wished our Texas Rangers would have had a better night!
We had a wonderful day!

Old North Church, built in 1723 is Boston's oldest church building, is a beautiful example of Georgian architecture.
It houses one of America's oldest working clocks. and maiden peal of bells.
Inside the Old North Church
Old Boston with lantern filled streets.
Old State House, built in 1713, is the oldest surviving public building in Boston. The Declaration of Independence was read publically to jubilant crowds that supported the revolution on July 18, 1776 from the East balcony.

The Boston Massacre, known as the Incident on King Street by the British, was an incident on March 5, 1770, in which
British Army soldiers killed five civilian men and injured six others.  The massacre took place at the Old State House.
The Boston Massacre considered one of the most important events that turned colonial sentiment against King George III and British Parliamentary authority.  John Adams wrote that the "foundation of American independence was laid" on
March 5, 1770, and Samuel Adams and other Patriots used annual commemorations (Massacre Day) of the
event to fulminate against British rule.
This  Memorial Garden is in honor of the men and women in the Armed Forces who have
lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.

Saint Leonard of Port Maurice is the oldest Catholic Church in Boston founded in 1873.
