We took advantage of the reasonable diesel fuel for $3.76 a gallon today at Pier 33 in St. Joseph, MI and a free pump out. Once we were topped off we headed to Hammond, IN.
On our way out of Benton Harbor our depth finder read in the low 4s. Nerve wrecking. However, it looks like we finally had a good experience with a mechanic. The service department replaced the fresh water pump and battery charger and they are both working great. Wonderful news!
Seas were predicted at 1-2 feet, but they
were wrong. When we first started out we
had seas off our bow from 3-4. We were
crashing hard and items that were not put down ended up on the floor.
After 3 ½ hours of waves bouncing us around the seas finally calmed
down to the welcomed 1 footers. Thank goodness. Long day with 62 miles behind us. The seas started to kick up again when we entered Hammond. We are docked right in front Horseshoe Casino, a floating structure. We will have to check it out.
