9-2 Ludington, MI

Seas on Lake Michigan were reported to be 5 to 6 feet today so we stayed at Ludington and enjoyed milling around town. A cold front blew in and the temps are in the low 60s.  We went from shorts yesterday to wearing jackets today!  Cold and windy! Brrrrrr!

We enjoyed our ice cream in a waffle cone at House of Flavors. They make ice cream in the plant attached and produce 5,400 gallons of finished product per hour or over 400,000 gallons of ice cream per week!

Had fun browsing through the many antique shops.

S. S. Badger was built and launched in 1952 and offers the largest cross-lake passenger service on the Great Lakes.  This steamship cruises 60 miles across Lake Michigan and takes passengers, autos,  tour buses and commercial trucks from Ludington, MI to Manitowoc, WI. She is the only coal-fired steamship in operation in the United States today.
