9-5 Holland bound, Diane and Larry arrive

We changed our plans and left Grand Haven because of the rocking and rolling in the dock.  We were afraid that Diane with a tendency to get sea sick would not be able to handle the rough dockage. After visiting the Grand Trunk Depot museum, we left for Holland around noon and had smooth seas.  We docked at Anchorage Marina and this protected harbor offers a quieter dockage.  Larry and Diane arrived around 6PM.  After dinner they drove us to Holland, about 6 miles from the marina and we enjoyed popping in and out of the historic town shops.  Since this is a college town a lot of the shops were still opened.

This Fresnel Lens was the fourth ordered Fresnel Lens in Paris, France. It was ordered in 1854 for the Grand Haven Lighthouse on the bluff.

Grand Trunk Depot museum was located in  the train depot constructed in 1870.
