June 30,
Church
We had Ron
the preacher pick us up to go to church.
This was the church that Ken’s dad preached at while they lived
in Ottawa. After church, we were offered a
tour of the home which sits right next to the church where the Clutter family
used to live. They enjoyed traveling back down memory lane and pointed out the
shelves that Dean, their dad had made and where Ken used to play ping pong in
the basement with his dad and Diane remembers falling on the icy porch and
dropping a pan of macaroni and cheese for a church social. It was fun listening to them recall their
childhood.
That evening
we went to watch the Musical Ride with horses trotting to contemporary music
played by the Central Band of Canadian Forces.
Ken and I bought a bag of poutine, French fries drenched in cheese and brown
gravy. A healthy snack while we watched
the Equestrian show. We caught the bus
back to the boat and it was packed.
